Not sure what toothbrush to use with your baby? We’ve got you covered!
Did you know that as soon as your baby has their first tooth it is recommended you start brushing their teeth? If I am being honest, as a first-time mom I had no idea. I also didn’t know if I should use fluoride-free or fluoride toothpaste, and how much I should apply.
But since my son has a mouth full of teeth now, I knew we needed to start something, so we recently started incorporating teeth brushing into our routine. In perfect timing, we were recently given the MAM Baby training toothbrush to try, and we wanted to share our experience with you, Mama...
Color
The toothbrush comes in three color choices: pink, blue, and green. I love how these are great primary colors and suitable for all kids.
Bristle
I found the design of the bristles to be the most interesting. There are three colors on the bristles. All of the bristles have the same texture and feel, soft but firm enough to clean plaque off teeth. But what I found to be the most helpful aspect of the bristles were the center red bristles. MAM Baby specifically made the red bristles to indicate how much toothpaste to apply!
Handle
The handle on the toothbrush is long enough for parental assistance, but has a non-slip grip handle so your baby is able to hold it by themselves too, if desired. I liked that the shape of the handle is slightly curved at the bottom. I found this helpful because I was able to hold the end of the toothbrush and encourage the direction while brushing my son's teeth.
Shield
My favorite aspect about the baby toothbrush is the safety shield. The shield provides protection for your baby so your little one is able to learn the motion of brushing their teeth without sticking the toothbrush too far into their mouth. The shield is also removable.
MAM offers an abundance of baby accessories, especially helpful in the first couple years, such as soothers, bottles, breastfeeding accessories, cleaning supplies, teethers, and so much more!
