Why we love the ergoPouch sleep onesie
I think all parents can agree that there is no sweeter sound than a sleeping baby.
However, getting your baby to that point isn’t always the easiest task. Every child is different in how they prefer to sleep (being swaddled vs. unswaddled, paci or no paci) and finding the right sleepwear can be especially overwhelming.
Recently I received the sleep onesie in fawn from ergoPouch. When I first opened the packaging, I honestly had no complaints, and there were several things I loved and noticed right away.
Material
It is breathable and lightweight, with a very-soft organic cotton body inner and outer filling, with a bamboo-cotton blend in the arms and easy movement and warmth.
Color
The colors offered are soft, not too overstimulating, and they also have neutral colors and designs!
Zipper
3-way zipper feature, zips down the front, middle, or back. Perfect for potty training, as you can easily zip your child’s legs out without completely taking off the onesie.
Temperature
Thermal Overall Grade (TOG) rating is 2.5, perfect in placement of a blanket. You can feel the weight on the inner material of the onsie, not on the arms. Great for spring, fall, or winter wear. If you have AC, then I’d recommend this for summer, too! Ideal for room temperature between 63F-73F.
Style
Conformed to the shape of a human body, this is a great “blanket” your child can wear from the house to the car in those cold winter months, or even for a stroller ride. Once your child gets older, this style is perfect for toilet runs or morning quiet time where they can get out of their bed and quietly play until they’re allowed to leave their room.
Fold over cuffs and mitts
Great for keeping their feet warm throughout the night, the cuffs and mitts fold over, acting as socks and mittens (the mitts are only available in the 2-3 year size - which is what we got!).
Layering
There is enough room to layer with PJs on those cold winter months, but soft enough to dress without clothing.
The only factor I found to be less than ideal is drying the product. Due to the organic materials and fabrics used for the sleep onesie, it is not recommended for tumble dry to ensure the longevity of the sleep onesie. However, I did reach out to the company seeking more information about drying, and they mentioned that you can tumble dry on low heat, but just to watch out as the body filling may gather a little.
Personally, this is not as big of a concern, as I prefer organic fabrics, and since I love this product so much I would recommend buying a couple. That way, while one is air drying, your child can sleep in the other!
We have been using the ergoPouch sleep onesie for a few nights now and I can confidently say that I would recommend this product! With the extra body padding and fold-over cuffs and mitts, I never have to worry if my son is comfortable while he sleeps. I’ve also noticed that he’s been able to put himself back to sleep in the mornings for a few extra minutes. Such a win!
Aside from the sleep onesie, ergoPouch offers a collection of other sleep products from swaddles, sleep suit bags, pajamas, accessories, and more. As I envision a life with more littles running around, I’m excited to try the cocoon swaddle and pajamas, too!
